Tournament Time! Cash Prizes! Big Money! (not really)
So Are You In?

If you want in and Ive already got your Program in the garage just let me know which it is.
If youve got a new or better program, you know the drill...
Does anyone care about restrictions on type? I for one dont. I think all the OKEs are well balanced between speed, armour, and firepower.
Any questions concerns, drop a line in the comments, or E-Mail me; Yamabushi98x@yahoo.com.

I will have all of my programs on my blog (you are free to link the blog (http://holmes-watson.blogspot.com/)or the programs here).
I do have one question. Are we limited to one program per person or can we enter as many as we want?
Once I know that I'll make sure that my best program(s) is(are) on that blog and make sure you know which one(s) I'll compete with.

It will be 3 on 3 combat, if you want a mix of OKEs fine, just let me know. Ill determine how many "teams" get entered per person depending on how many entries I get. So if everybody enters enough for 2 teams then we'll have 2 teams each, an so on.
right now Ive got about 3 teams worth of decent entries.

And does anybody want to go up against the Artdink staffs OKEs? (excluding the 'Ironman' hows just unbeatable)
Whatever gave you guys the idea that the "Ironman" is unbeatable?
If I've learned anything from this game, it's that any program can be beaten. My programs are no exception and neither is "Ironman." I've proven this by doing just that. If you want proof then go to my blog (http://holmes-watson.blogspot.com/) and use the Bomber program there against it.
The only real issues there are what kind of strategy you have and what tactics you use to pull it off.
That just gave me an idea too. A tournament using the "Ironman" as the opponent and scores being calculated by how much damage the OKEs take on average. I'm not sure that will work in this case, but maybe sometime.
Anyway, don't think that you can't beat the "Ironman."

For some reason it's just difficult to make this decision when I have so many good programs. I'll decide pretty soon though(a few days max).
I'm just deciding what kinds of tactics I want to emphasize for competition OKEs since I could theoretically go up against any kind of warfare. For me, that's a big decision considering just how many OKEs I've made over the years that I could recreate in less than a half hour. I'm betting I'm not alone in that either.

So. It begins...
Hahaha, I can't believe this site exists! I am so down for this. What are the rules and what date is the cutoff?

I just wanted to say that I am so glad to find you guys - I've been playing against the computer so long it (almost) got boring. This and Atrain are two of my favorite games and I've played lots of fancy new stuff but I always come back to the Carnage.
Can't wait to get in on some human competition so I am going to try to finish copying some of the units posted here and hopefully I'll have a couple to share with you soon. For me the best are the flying oke's for all the crazy maneuvers they pull off. I usually use three different units with at least one on the ground in a team so hopefully a mix is ok. Hope to compete with you soon!

Carnage Heart was one of the inspirations for me to learn programming. So to give a little back and because I am a little bit of a freak, I have made an OKE program writer for people to easily create images from (I tried your way and used the images to make this).
After entering your program, with a menu similar to the game, you will have to take 6 screen shots and cut and past to save into one image file. The browser based writer works easiest in FireFox 2 for now but it still works in IE but with no scrolling content area so you have to keep scrolling back to the menu to enter a new chip. Let me know if you have any problems with it, I might make functionality to save and display the programs.
I hope this helps bring more fans out programming some OKE action!

Well, I guess my only question now is the deadline. When exactly will the moment of truth be when I finally find out who here is my best competition? I really want to find out how I rank considering it's been my favorite game for so many years.
Ok, I created a blog to post my teams to: http://thuferhawat.blogspot.com/
So far, I've only got one team but If anyone cares to take me on, let me know how it goes! - tbone

Hi,
I've had this game since its release.
I still play it on & off. In fact I am still playing the original campaign i started back in the mid 90's.
What i mean is i have got lots of OKE programs. But I am new to blogging & have no idea how to send in one of my programs.
Could you please inform me how I go about doing this?
I have already got one of my favorite but simpler OKE programs compiled in an image, as it were.
(An aggressive prowler with a shotgun, big missiles & masochistic tendencies)
I love this game.

In theory you just need to send it to big al via e-mail. For some reason though he seems to be a bit unresponsive lately though.
Another thing you can do is create your own blog and have the image be hosted by some free service and linked from the blog like I do.
Also, a method I've been wanting to test is the use of a memory card file from an emulator. I have an example of that on my blog (http://holmes-watson.blogspot.com/) too. However, I don't think that specific method will be used for this tournament.

Could you stick my 'Gladiator' bot in there with a VyporII body, Panther rockets, the highest shotgun ammo, and the other good stuff? Try him against Ironman too.. ;)
Er I forgot,
Here is me Blogspot;
Just me Prowler there at the moment.
Tank & flying OKE to follow shortly.
Hopefully. Honest!

I just wanted to say hi. I'm the author of the Carnage Heart Portable translation document available at gamefaqs.com. It's great to see other CH players out there.
Cheers.
Cheers.
Hey! Just wanted to say hi and thank everyone who's responsible for the site and it's contents. I played Carnage Heart on my old Playstation a long time back. It was a rental, but recently I managed to get a copy of it. I find the game very entertaining and hope to see similar style "program and destroy" style games in the future.
Is there any guide on different subweapon effectivness?
like which mines can hit ground targets from the air, which are ground to air.. which missles are best seeking at various ranges vs which are higher damage... just curious.
